K-Kids Service Initiative

Learn to live

This year’s service initiative, learn to live, focuses on four service areas. Do your best to plan service projects which focus on each of these service areas throughout the year.

Service areas include:

Bully prevention

• Conduct a bully prevention poster campaign.
• Share information about bullying with a fortune teller.
• Plan a bully awareness day or a bully awareness week.
• Make and hand out bully-free zone bookmarks advertising bully prevention resources.

Service to others

• Plan a service or fundraising project.
• Use the Power of Nice booklet in K-Kids Zone magazine to assist in planning good deeds to help others.

• Conduct a character trait poster campaign. Use Kiwanis Terrific Kids resources. Keep a Terrific Kids journal and see what impact you have on others by practicing good character. 

Literacy

• Work with your local Key Club to plan a how-to-study program for students at school. 
• Read to younger students.
• Plan a book swap where gently used books are traded. 
• Download, print, assemble and distribute K-Kids Happy Books to students in your school.
