“Student voice” happens when school leaders both believe students’ voice matters and they actively listen. This allows students to become co-leaders. In fact, one study shows the impact when students believe they have a voice in decision-making at school.* For instance, they are four times more likely to:

      Believe teachers respect students
      Think teachers enjoy working with students
      Agree that teachers help them learn from their mistakes
      Feel teachers encourage students to make decisions

This is where K-Kids comes in. When students are viewed as valued partners, they join administrators and staff in school leadership—taking it in a direction that benefits everyone.
